Facilities at the University

The Calman Learning Centre (CLC)

All rooms are operated by a state of the art AMX touch screen controller and provide strong and enhancing support for presentation and talks.
Main AV features are:

  • The room has a fully functioning sound system and induction loop.
  • A video-conference system which can be used for both initiate calls to external sites or transmit screen output to any other lecture theatre room in the building is available within the room.
  • Lighting and control of the dry whiteboards is also controlled via the AMX touch-screen.
  • The teaching lectern is capable of being modified for wheel chair access and AV controls are DDA compliant.

Rooms within CLC

The Arnold Wolfendale lecture theatre is the main room, a 400 tiered lecture theatre, it is situated on the ground floor of the Calman Learning Centre
The Rosemary Cramp & Ken Wade lecture theatres both offer the same strong AV support but on a smaller scale offering 260 seated tiered rooms on the 2nd floor.
The Kingsley Barrett is a seated room located on the 4th floor, a flexible space which can be tailored to the needs of the conference in question, still providing central AV via modern touch screen seating 102.
The final lecture room within the building in also on the 4th floor titled Christopher Derman, seating 32 for those smaller group sizes.
